Blanket Chests in Walnut
Living in southeast PA amongst the centuries old farmlands of Lancaster and Chester counties, we are uniquely blessed with a selection of some of the finest black walnut logs in the world. Woodworkers know that while curly maple is awesome, curly walnut is something truly special and rare- and in wide 12”+ stock almost unheard of. Thankfully, our fine local sawmills have a penchant for acquiring these ancient logs and always have a selection on hand of spectacular figured walnut that rivals the finest exotic tropical hardwoods whose harvest and transport stateside takes such a heavy toll on our environment.
I completed both of these chests in the Spring of 2022, one with a front drawer, one without. Both were a joy to work on - particularly thanks to my furry helpers.
